Year 6 Parents Guide 2026-27

7 How your child’s progress will be monitored and reported • MCAS – My Child at School. Your will receive login in details for MCAS and through this you will be able to monitor you child’s attendance, punctuality, behaviour and rewards. You will be able to see your child’s Positive Progress Points via MCAS. Likewise, you will be able to see if your child is given a detention or other consequence and a text message will be sent to you to notify you of this. • Assessment and Reporting Your child will receive a Progress report in October, January and May. In October, we will review their Attitude to Learning and discuss this with you at our Meet the Form Tutor meetings. In January and May, we collect information about their Attitude to Learning, as well as their progress in each of their subject areas. Following each Tracking Point, students, alongside their form tutor and subject teachers, reflect and set targets for the following Tracking Points. Parents and carers will have the opportunity to discuss their child’s progress with subject teachers during our on-line Progress Meeting in April. • Progress Evenings Once a year you will have a progress evening with your child’s subject teachers to discuss their academic progress. • Rewards Assemblies These will take place at the end of each Learning Cycle where attendance, contributions and positive behaviours are recognised and rewarded. • Paying for your child’s food and refreshments in school/Parent Pay ParentPay is a secure, convenient online systemwhichenables parents topay for schoolmeals and other items.
